Port of Alaska gives tours to school and civic groups that are interested in learning more about the port. Tour requests should be emailed to portofalaska@anchorageak.gov or call 907-343-6200.

Visitor Requirements

Please help Port of Alaska keep tours safe, secure and interesting by providing the following information when requesting/scheduling a tour:

  • Group size (i.e., total number of people)
  • Number of adults (16 years or older)
  • Number of children
  • Special needs or restrictions with your group
  • Reason or educational goals for touring Port of Alaska (e.g., studying supply chains or career opportunities)

Security Statement

Port of Alaska follows Department of Homeland Security protocol. All roads and properties within Port of Alaska’s security perimeter have restricted access. All inbound traffic to Port of Alaska is controlled and subject to search — including commercial truck traffic and private vehicles. All adults and children who are older than 16 years must show a government- or school-issued photo identification and demonstrate a valid purpose to gain access. Individuals having business inside of Port of Alaska must have a confirmed Port of Alaska sponsor or contact person and phone number. Anyone not having a valid purpose to enter Port of Alaska will be denied entry.
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, incendiary devices and unauthorized hazardous materials are strictly prohibited inside of Port of Alaska’s security perimeter.
